Education and advocacy to improve ethics, standards, and practices in paleontology


The Annual Meeting venue includes activities both at the Host Hotel, as well as the J.J. Pickle Research Campus of the University of Texas, Austin.

Shuttle service will be available for transport between the host hotel and J.J. Pickle Campus on Wednesday and Friday. Transportation from the opening reception at the Austin Beerworks to the host hotel will also be provided.

It is recommonded that particpants lodge at the host hotel for this reason.

Participants with their own transportation are welcome to use their vehicles between venues.



Minimum fare $12.30, which includes a $1.00 airport surcharge. All taxis have a four-passenger maximum, and accept major credit cards. Plentiful during evenng hours in downtown Austin. Finding a hotel taxi stand is the quickest way to find a taxi during the day. One can be requested at any hour by cvalling a company directly.

Uber and Lyft do not operate in Austin.

Shuttle Service:

The host hotel offers a free shuttle service to anywhere within a 5 mile radius, including the Domain shopping center.

Public Transit:

Metrobus and Metrorail are easy options to head downtown from the Pickle Campus. Fares can be purchased directly from the CapMetro App, available on Apple, Android or Windows smartphones. More information can be found here.
