Maintains the AMMP website. Manages changing information, posts new items, and keeps Annual Meeting information up-to-date. The website should continue to supply members with valuable information, as well as update standards and best practices. All information pertaining to materials and methods in paleontology should be available here.
1. Key Responsibilities
a. Keep all relevant data updated; especially in relation to the Annual Meeting
b. Maintain and manage purchasing/payment options through website.
c. Provide members with valuable information to be used as a resource.
2. Expected Time Commitment
a. Initial time commitment expected to be 10-20 hours per month as the
website is developed beyond its current rudimentary state.
b. With collaborations and expanded roles of committee members, time
commitment may be reduced to an average of 5 hours per month.
3. Qualities, skills, and attributes beneficial for committee members
a. Knowledge of website management including coding and MySQL.
b. Basic visual design abilities.
c. Knowledge of online payment management software.
4. Available support for committee
a. Committee will collaborate with the board on content and updates, as well
as other committees.
b. Access to membership database to contact individuals for relevant content.
c. Website hosting supported by AMMP treasury through iPage (currently).
d. Website designed in EverWeb, to be converted to . Yearly licence renewed
for current year.
5. Accountability to the Board of Directors
a. Board will communicate needs and expectations to Website Development
b. Major updates planned should be reported to board prior to upload.
c. Any migration to new software or systems should be approved by the board
prior to implementation.
